Cement Letter Plaque

Materials:
Cement Letters from Darice
DecoArt Extreme Sheen Metallic Paint
Masking Tape
Paint Brush
Wood Plaque
Glue

Instructions:
Paint letters as desired, using masking tape to help mark your angles if you want. For extra metallic sheen, you can paint multiple coats. Once dry, set your letters on wooden plaque, using E6000 or hot glue to adhere them, if desired. 

Painted Picture Frame

Ingredients:
Unfinished Wood Frame
Black Acrylic Paint
White Paint Pen
United States Scrapbook Paper
Heart Stickers
Glue

Instructions:
Paint frame black, using multiple coats if desired. Cut out state shapes, and glue into position on the frame once the black paint is dry. Use the paint pen to draw dotted lines and hearts connecting the states. Add heart stickers to each state cut out. Insert your favorite photo of you and dad!


Globe Chalkboard

Materials:
Unfinished Wood Globe
Acrylic Paint (we used blue and brown)
Americana Clear Chalkboard Coating
Masking Tape
White Chalk

Instructions:
Paint the circle blue, masking with the tape if necessary. Once blue paint is dry, use the brown to paint the base and stand portion of the globe. Let dry. Apply two coats of the chalkboard coating to the blue area and let cure for at least 24 hours. Use chalk to write a message to dad!

Faux Woodgrain Frame

Materials:
Unfinished Wood Frame
Black Acrylic Paint
DC Fix Self Adhesive Vinyl in woodgrain pattern
Scissors

Instructions:
Paint the frame black and let dry completely. Cut the vinyl approximately 1/8" smaller than the frame (you will need to cut one piece for the front and four strips for the sides). Apply vinyl to the frame following package instructions. Add dad's favorite photo! 


Stepping Stone

Materials:
Milestones Premium Stepping Stone Mix
Heart-shaped Plastic Stepping Stone Mold
Glass Gems
Putty Knife

Instructions:
Follow package instructions to combine the stepping stone mix and water. Pour into mold and smooth with a putty knife. You may want to jiggle the mold from side to side to make sure the mixture is level. Add gems, pushing into mixture about halfway down. Write a message or draw a design using your finger, or a skewer. Let set for at least 24 hours. Wait at least 2 weeks before walking on it, if using as an actual stepping stone in your garden. 

Painted Wood Slice

Materials:
Wood Slice
Off White and Orange Acrylic Paints
Blue and Black Paint Pens
Googly Eye
Black Chenille Stem
Craft Glue

Instructions:
Paint the top of the wood slice with the off white paint. Once dry, paint your child's hand with the orange paint and press onto the surface of the wood slice. After the hand print is dry, use the paint pens to embellish the slice with waves, a special message for dad, and a mouth for the fish. Glue on googly eye. Trim chenille stem and bend into the shape of a hook, and glue onto wood slice where desired. 

Faux Marble Catch-all Tray

Materials:
Unfinished Paper Mache Tray
Grey Acrylic Paint
Metallic Gold Acrylic Paint
DC Fix Self Adhesive Vinyl in marble pattern
Scissors

Instructions:
Paint the entire tray with the grey paint. Once dry, paint just the edges of the tray using the metallic gold paint. After paint is dry, cut vinyl to fit on the inside bottom of the tray and adhere following package instructions.
