Tips for Mixed Media Project

  • If you don't like how part of your project turned out, cover it with more layers and transform it into something new!
  • Getting impatient? Use a heat gun to speed up the drying process of wet materials.
  • When your paper tends to warp and bend a little while using sprays, paints and gesso, use an old cotton tea-towel and iron on a hot setting.
  • Even everyday household items can be used for mixed media! Try using paint on bubble-wrap for a fun pattern, or spray onto a textured paper towel and transfer the pattern onto your paper!
